Look Mom! My room is clean!

Those that know me, especially my Mom, know that I was never the tidiest of people. My room was ALWAYS messy. Unless of course, my Mom told me I had to clean my room or I couldn't go out with my friends. Then it was a 2 hour cleaning job (and hiding stuff under the bed and in drawers).
     Flash forward 8 years and I have my own home with my husband and two daughters. My home is now something I take pride in. Even though there still are some days were things are not in place (we have a 2 year old and 5 year old-you can imagine the messes), for the most part our house is very clean. My husband and I take turns with certain household jobs. I do most of them since I am the stay at home parent, but he is great about helping me when he gets home from work. I feel very lucky in that area. My husband hates to dust, which is great because that is my favorite chore! He helps with laundry and I make sure to have dinner ready for him when he gets home from work. And I love the smell of a freshly cleaned kitchen. ME?! Enjoying cleaning?! Yes, I guess it is true. After years of growing up and owning a home of your own, things definitely change. :) My Mom would be so proud.

        Flashback to my high school years and I was running on average six miles a day, five or six days a week, as well as lifting. Good ole cross-country! To say the least, I haven't really kept up with that regimen. DIY Wine Bottles Recycled

     My husband and I just celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary. Here is a fun way we came up with a prop for our anniversary photo shoot. First, we picked out 3 different shaped wine bottles, emptied them, pulled off the labels and washed them.   Then, I sprayed the wine bottles with Chalkboard paint from a spray can.     After the wine bottles were left to dry overnight, I used some chalk to spell out "ONE" and then added some fake flowers for decoration.  Voila!       This is the setting where we shot our anniversary photos. Swisher Sweeties in Frankenmuth, MI

     After coming home from a long work weekend, and being curled up on the couch watching TV with my husband and youngest daughter, I realized I haven't been keeping up much with my blog. We have all been extremely busy lately. Thursday morning, I left for my Swisher promotional job and headed to Detroit. The hotel was gorgeous! In the restaurant area they had a live jazz band and extremely tasty food. I enjoyed sitting and listening to them for a couple hours.  The next morning, I headed towards Frankenmuth, MI where the Country Fest would be going on for the next couple of days. The environment was so much fun. Live bands, cowboys and cowgirls for 6/7 hours a day with the other Swisher girls. We had a blast. Saturday, since we didn't have to be at work until 6,  the three of us girls got to explore Frankenmuth a little. Even though it was very chilly out, we wandered around cute shops and restaurants.
