A Rolling Stone..

On the road again. . . Dave and I love our traveling! When I was a little girl, I use to own a children's atlas book. At 10 years old, it was my goal to one day say that I had visited every state in the US. I would "star" every state I had visited, which back then was only Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Kentucky. I do not still own that atlas, however last weekend I was able to add another state to the list...Vermont.
For my fiance's new job, we were flown out to Burlington, Vermont for a week. We had never been to that part of the county before. It was beautiful! Miles of rolling hills with the Adirondack Mountains in the distance. We stayed at the Hilton hotel, right beside Lake Champlain.

A sunset view from our hotel room.
The community was very unique. The food at the restaurants we ate at, had locally produced food and drink. We didn't see many restaurant chains or "fast food".  At one of the restaurants, the menu choices were: quail, rabbit, duck, deer, goose, fish and luckily some chicken (which is what I ate). Dave tried the duck, but it wasn't to his liking. We had a cheese tasting at another restaurant, it was delicious! One of the nights, two of Dave's co-workers and their wives accompanied us to dinner. Afterwards, we all went to Ben & Jerry's, which was founded in 1978 in Burlington, Vermont.

One of Vermont's popular sights is Shelburne Farms, a Vanderbilt/Webb estate from 1886. Over 1400 acres and it is so gorgeous!! We spent a lot of time on the farm and I had a photo shoot there as well.

And in other exciting news, Dave met the Governor of Vermont! He loves his new job for Vermont Energy Investment Corporation. The Governor wanted a picture with Dave and his co-worker, and was kind enough to forward the pictures to his company.

It was an exciting travel and we may be traveling to Alabama this next weekend. Looking forward to it!!
